Common questions

Can a GP online help with anxiety or depression?

Yes. A registered GP can assess your symptoms, provide a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP), prescribe medication if appropriate, and refer you to a psychologist or counsellor. For complex cases or emergencies, we will advise on the most appropriate care pathway.

What is a Mental Health Treatment Plan?

An MHTP (also called a Mental Health Care Plan) is a document prepared by your GP that allows you to access Medicare-subsidised psychology sessions. SwiftDoc GPs can prepare this plan during your consultation.

Will this be confidential?

Yes. All consultations with SwiftDoc are strictly confidential. Your medical records are only accessible to you and your treating doctor.

What if I am in crisis?

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 000 or contact Lifeline on 13 11 14. SwiftDoc is not an emergency service.
