Nearly a year ago, when COVID-19 could have been the subject of a sci-fi novel, we wrote a blog post about how using an online doctor could benefit you.
Fast-forward to these “interesting” times and we’ve given the post a bit of a makeover – lockdown style…

COVID-19 doesn’t mean that other health issues take a back seat. When a lot of businesses are forced to close, we are OPEN seven days a week – evenings, weekends and public holidays. We are open when you are sick, so you can get the help you need.
Our long opening hours is particularly useful if you are juggling work with home-schooling – when the kids are in bed, we’re here, ready for your consultation.
This benefit is especially useful during a lockdown when our travel movements are quite restricted. While it’s true that medical appointments fall into the category of essential travel, a lot of those who are particularly vulnerable would rather just stay home if they can.
An online consult means you don’t have to worry about social distancing, or distance at all – we can talk to you whether you are next door, or on the other side of the country.
Even before these COVID-19 times, we priced our services to ensure that we were affordable, as we truly believe that healthcare is a right not a privilege. Now, with the Government’s current temporary bulk-billing measures until at least the end of September 2020 we can also offer some services on a bulk-billed basis as well. Let’s be clear here – all GPs can offer this, it is just a matter of making sure you see the same one each time. Where we can add to that is by being available to you when you are somewhere else and your regular GP isn’t available, such as stuck in lockdown. And soon, as restrictions ease, you can continue that same care, with the same SwiftDoc GP when you are on holiday or working out of town (and aren’t we all looking forward to those times!).
Even before COVID-19, this is where we really came into our own, offering services to rural and remote Australians where there aren’t enough GPs to go around, and to those groups that just can’t get to a GP when they need to such as shift workers and FIFO workers.
Now, with so many of us in lockdown, we can now provide that same level of access to those who are vulnerable or unwell and choosing to stay home.
